About Our School

Woodlands Park Primary School opened in 1965 with just sixty children accommodated in three classrooms and a small hall.  As the estate grew, so the school grew in size.  In 1992 a spacious attractive Nursery was added.  With the addition of the Nursery, Woodlands Park School now offers education on the one site for children aged between 3 and 11 years in a spacious and attractive environment.  Now in 2002 we have 270 children on roll.

The school's designated area takes in the majority of Woodlands Park District which lies to the north east of White Waltham Village on the outskirts of Maidenhead.  In line with the Local Education Authority Policy, admission priority will be given to children living within the School's designated area. Children from outside this area may be admitted providing the School has not reached its planned admission  levels.

MEET OUR STAFF

AIMS

Woodlands Park School is a school which cares about people.  As a school we take seriously our responsibility to provide education for all those in our care.
We aim for high standards of behaviour, academic work, and physical and creative achievement throughout the school.

We aim to

  • Give each child the opportunity to develop fully according to individual abilities and aptitudes.
  • Create a stimulating, exciting and attractive environment where children can question, investigate and experiment.
  • Promote children's self esteem by encouraging a sense of achievement based on their own ability.
  • Foster awareness and understanding off the outside world.
  • Educate each child to be a useful member of the School community and, ultimately, the community as a whole.

PTA

Woodlands Park School has a strong Parent Teacher Association. The committee  meets at least once a term to discuss PTA events and fundraising.

Regular events which the PTA hold include a Summer Fun Day, Halloween Disco, Easter Egg Hunt, and barbeques.  We like to offer a range of different events for all family members and have held events such as roller discos, ladies nights and jumble sales.

We warmly invite all new families to become part of the PTA. We are always looking for new ideas and suggestions to enhance the family atmosphere of our school and ways of raising money to support the school funds. We encourage you to get involved with our school and with the social events we organise.

Last year we raised enough money to be able buy recreational equipment for the field, which will be in place for the coming summer months.  We have also recently bought play equipment for the nursery, sports equipment and classroom materials.

Our working party have been able to support the staff in the redecoration of classrooms and maintenance of the willow tunnels and wildlife area.
