Behaviour and Discipline
We expect all children to operate within our Behaviour Policy, which promotes positive behaviour.
We teach through example the principles of good manners, hard work and respect for others and their property.
We believe that our code of behaviour is applicable to all, both children and adults, and that any behaviour which adversely affects another, is against our rules. Children are expected to know the difference between right and wrong and to know that if they make a mistake they will be corrected.
This policy states that bullying and racism will not be tolerated. We would encourage any parent who has concerns over instances of any type to contact the school at the earliest time possible.
If we have any concerns over an individual child, parents will be involved at an early stage.
It is our aim that everyone involved in the life of Gracefield Preparatory School should enjoy being part of a caring and thriving community.

Facilities at Gracefield Preparatory School
We are very proud of our facilities at Gracefield School. We are based in a beautiful Victorian era building on Overndale Road just 3 miles from Bristol City center in the Urban area called Fishponds.
The school boasts a hard surfaced playground at the rear of the school building and only five minutes to indoor sports facilities when the weather is not good. From Year 2, the children visit the local swimming pool weekly.
Featured on this page is a selection of photographs that present the facilities we have which include pictures of the library, the art room, the food technology room, the music room, and the computer suite. Elsewhere in the web site is a selection of other interesting pictures.
We are in the course of re-decorating the school from top to bottom and recently also had the wall of the playground painted in exciting colours and graphics.
The Classrooms are made as bright and interesting as we can possibly make them. The children's work is displayed on the walls of their classrooms and classes are also given the opportunity to display their work in the hall ways as well.
The library has a very good selection of books for both reading and reference purposes. The children of each class spend time in the relaxed atmosphere of the library sitting on bean bags or at personaltables and chairs where they may browse what the library has to offer.
We are continually improving the resources of the library with initiatives such as "cook for books" that allows us to raise additional funds to keep the library up to date.
The art room is equipped with all the necessary facilities to allow the children to engage in activities such as pottery and other craft activities.
The food technology room is equipped with cooking facilities that allow all years to explore different techniques of food preparation.
The Music room is well resourced with a good selection of musical instruments and we are actively encouraging the children to develop skills in various instruments.
Please come and visit us and see our facilities for yourself.
