Hello and a warm welcome to the Hannah More School website.

Our website is constantly developing. We are adding to it all the time and many members of our school community have already made useful and interesting contributions. If you are a regular visitor to the site, you may like to click here to find out what's been added to the site recently.

The Showcase is a great place to start. Here class teachers have added lots of examples of children's work and activities. Have a look at what your child's class have been up to! Or look at some of the whole school activities. The Showcase is the place you will get a feel for how exciting learning is at Hannah More!

If you are interested in working at Hannah More, we have jobs available at the moment. Click here to learn more.

If your child is starting at Hannah More in September, have a look here at what to expect.  For information about the school in languages other than English click here.

Our School’s Governors page will give you information about who they are and their roles in school and the Parents' page will give you a feel for the range of courses offered during the school day, and opportunities for you to become more involved with the school.

You can access information about our extended school provision, including breakfast club, after school activities and More 4 Kids club.

In a recent OFSTED report, the school's links with local businesses were described as "outstanding". Click here to read more about them.

In partnership with Bristol City Council’s Adult Learning Service we run a number of leisure and development courses for adults in the evenings. From Belly Dancing to Photoshop and French to Pilates, there is something for everyone!

Hannah More really is a vibrant and exciting place to learn and grow. In fact, we are all ‘Learning for Life in Our Community'

Best wishes

Parents

We welcome parents in school and encourage people to get involved. There are many opportunities to come in to school, from our weekly Friday 'Good Work' assemblies, to helping in class, to joining a course or coffee morning. For parents who would like to volunteer in school, there are training sessions run each term.

This autumn we have Art and Craft training sessions, English classes, Family Storytelling sessions and some fantastic 'MadScience' Saturday sessions for Dads and Kids. We are also planning to set up some parent support sessions as well as coffee mornings and social occasions. Look at the information folder below for further details.

You can also check out the photos of past activities to get an idea of the range of sessions in school for parents.

Showcase

Click on these folders to see some of the amazing learning activities we have been doing recently. As we move into our third academic year of the website showcase, all the children's work from last year has been moved to a folder in their new year group's space. Happy browsing!

CLUBS

Welcome to our Club

More 4 Kids Club – about us

More 4 Kids Club, otherwise known as M4KC was set up in 2002 to provide activity based childcare after school and during the school holidays for our local community.   Our aim is to provide childcare within a caring, friendly, stimulating environment that meets your child’s individual needs throughout their time with us. Our club is regulated by Ofsted.

Out of School Hours Activities

At Hannah More Primary School, we believe strongly in providing our children with a diverse and enriching curriculum.  This learning is complemented by the wide range of activities that we provide outside of the classroom.  Activities such as our daily Breakfast club, lunchtime ICT club, to our Choir club who has performed at both the Colston and Albert Hall!

For further information on the variety of clubs and activities we run, please click on the links below:

Morning clubs:

Lunchtime clubs: (our lunchtime clubs are free, generally children do not need to register in advance, clubs are usually run by school staff).  Clubs include:

  • Choir club
  • ICT club (this page is under construction)
  • Number Partners (this club is run in partnership with our volunteers) (this page is under construction)

After school clubs: (our after school clubs take place after school between 3.30 and 4.30 or 5.00pm.  Each club runs for between 5 and 10 weeks and costs between £5 and £20 per child.  Children need to register their interest in advance, further details can be obtained from Mrs Carter in the school office).  Our programme changes regularly each term, below are a selection of the clubs that we may offer:

Special, "limited edition" clubs: (these clubs run at specific times of the year, are linked to the curriculum, take place at weekends or during the school holidays and are targeted to specific year groups). To date, we have run the following:

In July 2007, Hannah More was awarded the nationally accredited Quality in Study Support Code of Practice quality mark at Emerged level - the only primary school in Bristol to achieve such recognition for the excellent range of Out of School Hours Learning activities and clubs that we provide for our children.
