Welcome to Milton Keynes Preparatory School Where each child is encouraged to grow and develop thus reaching their own full potential |
Milton Keynes Preparatory School is an IAPS co-educational day school for 500 children aged from 2 months to 11 years.
Established in 1975, MKPS is a young modern vibrant school in a purpose built building. The transfer from the nursery through to the preparatory school is therefore smooth and seamless.
Stimulating teaching of a broad and interesting curriculum ensures effective learning, so that children leave us to go to their senior schools as self assured, confident pupils with a good work ethic, who have reached their potential not only academically but in a truly holistic sense through the many opportunities and challenges which have been presented to them. |

Choose a department for an idea of what we offer children at different stages of their development
|
Each department has a strong well qualified, experienced team, dedicated to the philosophy that a happy child, who is safe and secure, is a child who will assimilate and absorb a wealth of information, who will interact well with both adults and peers.
We have excellent facilities which are available to children in each department as appropriate. A multi purpose sports hall, a 22 bank E lab, an environmental studies room, a science laboratory, a music studio and libraries are some of the specialist areas available, together with a new proposed leisure complex opening soon off site to promote health and fitness in our children.

The curriculum covers the core subjects in ability grouped classes together with many opportunities in art, music and sport.
We prepare pupils for local and national senior independent schools and for the local grammar schools. Our results for entry into these schools are exceptional with most pupils gaining places at the school of their choice.
We offer a variety of extra curricular activities and clubs both after school and during the holidays.

Parents who choose to leave their babies and toddlers with us can do so with the knowledge that they will be safe, happy, cared for, talked to and listened to.
They play outside as often as possible. They learn to mix and share, to give and take and form strong bonds with staff who help them develop and nurture them.
These specialist staff understand small children’s wants and needs and take great pride and pleasure from each tiny change and development.

The life of our school is created through a happy environment, where excellence is the norm and where children develop to the full |
The life of our school is punctuated by sharing each other’s successes. It is busy and full with time for reflection. There are periods of great progress and periods of consolidation. Times to look forwards and times to look back.
There is a strong feeling of community with clear boundaries set so that the comfort of the community is not compromised. There is an expectation to respect and praise others in small ways.
Each individual is encouraged to give of his/her best in every area of school life. There are stimuli to improve and succeed both in and out of the classroom. | | | |
