Hazelmere

Infants School and Nursery

"A happy school where all can enjoy learning"

The school was inspected by Ofsted in 2006. The report states; "Hazelmere Infant School and Nursery is an effective school with some excellent features. An outstanding strength is in the care, support and guidance offered to all pupils. Pupils are very well supported in their learning and their progress is tracked carefully from the Nursery onwards. They really like coming to school and take part in lessons with enthusiasm, showing great enjoyment in what they are doing". The full 2006 and 2000 Ofsted reports are available via these links.

Our school, built in 1964, is located in Colchester, Essex, UK. It has accommodation for Foundation Stage and Key Stage One children aged three to seven years. The building is spaciously designed with corridors leading to six large self contained classrooms, library and food technology area, a purpose built Nursery and a well equipped IT suite. There is a large Assembly/Dining hall which is also equipped for physical education, a kitchen and adjacent playing areas. A Neighbourhood Nursery and Children's Centre also share the same site.

The school works to achieve excellence in all aspects of school life and has received a number of awards in recognition of its achievements. The Letter from the Head Teacher to the parents outlines the school's ethos. The aims and objectives of the school focus on ensuring our children the best possible start in life. The school profile can be found on School Profile and details can also be found about the School Day, home cooked school meals, the Staff and the Governors.

We would be grateful if you could spare 10 minutes and share in our Traffic Census. We hope you will find this a useful resource for your geography teaching.

  • Sustain a caring, friendly and supportive environment.
