St Anne's Preparatory School aims to provide a secure and happy learning environment that values individuals and encourages each child to fulfill his or her potential in all aspects of life. The school is co-educational and believes in equal opportunities for girls and boys to build their self-esteem, confidence and independence. Our children are equipped with the skills and confidence to attempt new tasks and the ability to adapt to a changing world. This is achieved through a shared vision with our parents, good classroom practice and adapting teaching to meet children's needs.

St Anne’s School is a very successful and inclusive school. We offer a firm foundation for life with small classes and individual attention, making it possible to explore and develop every child’s potential.
We believe that education is about preparing and equipping young people for life, not just for school. With this philosophy as our inspiration, St Anne’s School provides a stimulating environment where children enjoy learning and are encouraged and challenged to perform to the best of their ability in all areas of our curriculum.
With children encouraged to set their own high standards, performance levels at St Anne’s are often outstanding in both academic and vocational areas. With no measure of success being considered too small to celebrate, our highly committed and caring staff will always convey this message to our children.
High standards are expected of the children both in and outside the school and we encourage virtues of courtesy, honesty and kindness in all that we do.
In a structured environment where children feel comfortable and happy in their surroundings, they gain a range of experience both in and outside the classroom, learning to accept responsibility, developing self-confidence and establishing self-discipline.
Our school enjoys a lively and thriving Pre-School department using proven traditional methods of teaching. Throughout the school individual special needs are given expert attention with assessments and programmes of study being constantly reviewed and revised by experienced and qualified staff.
The School achieves great success in the Essex Selection Procedure (11+) and the SAT’s examinations ( achieving a top 50 place in the Sunday Times Parent Power Tables in 2006). Music and Drama are also encouraged and well supported with the School producing first class productions.
Visitors are welcome to come and experience the purposeful, happy and well-disciplined atmosphere that exists in our school.
