OUR SCHOOL HISTORY

Aviemore Primary School was built nearly 40 years ago and replaced a school Aviemore Primary Schoolwhich was at Rothiemurchus just outside the village on the road to Cairngorm.  The catchment  area comprises Aviemore and surrounding district. The village of Aviemore has expanded over the years and the school building has been altered to accommodate these changes. The main school building comprises 8 classrooms including the Special Class for children with special needs, a multi-purpose room, administration block, dining hall and canteen, gymnasium, stage, library, medical room, kitchen, shower room, janitors office and staffroom.  There are 2 demountable units at the rear of the school one of which houses the Nursery. The school playground is irregular in shape and comprises a tarmac area, grass area with climbing equipment for younger children and a large playing field. The school roll is currently 242 catering for all stages from nursery to P7.                                                    Rothiemurchus School

OUR SCHOOL AIMS

We understand that you want the very best for your child and want him or her to be happy and successful in school. Every member of staff at Aviemore Primary School shares this wish and works very hard to ensure that each child has access to the very best provision we can make for them. We set high standards and encourage each pupil to achieve a personal best for themselves.  We also aim to help each child develop a real sense of self worth and personal responsibility. The school follows the framework set out by the Scottish Office in the 5:14 guidelines for schools.  We constantly monitor and evaluate our programmes of work and strive for continual improvement in the provision we make.
