Bronte offers proven academic excellence in a happy, positive atmosphere.

We also offer a wide range of sporting activities so that there is something for every child to enjoy.

The secret to Bronte’s success is enjoyment of learning. Classes are small but full with enthusiasm. It is a school where each child from 3 to 11 years is given the best possible start.

Bronte is an independent school which charges modest fees.

We welcome everybody who believes, like us, that a good education and confidence are the most important gifts you can give to any child.

We are accredited by the Independent Schools Council and are members of the Independent Schools Association

Growing up at Bronte provides a foundation for lifelong achievement for each and every child.

At Bronte, we are dedicated to the personal development of every one of our pupils.
We find the best in them and make each pupil confident, hardworking and successful.

With a big variety of choices in our curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, life at Bronte is full and enjoyable for every child, whether they tend to be academic or sporting - or both.

A stimulating and well-structured programme is used to deliver the curriculum including a sensible mix of formal and informal work.

Bronte leads the way by offering four languages to its pupils: Latin, French, German and Spanish.

Bronte School has a full and varied extra-curricular calendar for its pupils.
There is a variety of clubs which include:

Choir
Art
Dance
Football
Athletics
Cricket
Cookery

Recorders
Drama
Netball
Rounders
Short tennis
Needlework
Spanish

From Yr 3, pupils at Bronte have the opportunity to enter The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations.

NURSERY

Welcome to Bronte Nursery. I am Toni Lawrence, the manager. Bronte Nursery is just down the road from Bronte School (established 1905).

Bronte Nursery aims to offer 'Intelligent Daycare'. What do we mean by that?

The new Bronte Nursery is founded not upon systems, business plans or marketing but upon an attitude to children, formed by long experience of running Bronte School, our kindergarten and prep school.

We aim to attract exceptional nursery staff who love babies and children – and who observe and interact with them intelligently. To learn more about this attitude to learning, see ‘
Our Approach’.

Our Location
We are in a rather convenient place
(map). It is a short step away from the Railway Station, Town Centre and Bus Terminus, and set back from one of the main routes into Gravesend.

Nappies
Parents/Carers should bring a good supply of the nappies of their choice to the nursery. These will be kept in a marked storage box exclusively for the named child's use.

Bottle Fed Babies
All formulas/breast milk should be prepared at home. Please ensure that your bottles are labelled, preferably initialling the base of the bottle with nail polish as this does not wash off. Please give all bottles to staff upon arrival so that these may be refrigerated immediately.

Sleeping
Each child will have their own bedding which will be individually marked. There are no rigid sleeping times as different children have different needs.

In-house training
We encourage all our nursery staff to continue improving their skills for the benefit of the children in their care – and their own careers.
