Fairview Community Primary School

Our vision is to provide a rich learning environment where everyone is valued and inspired, where everyone is enthused and encouraged to believe that they can shine

We value ....

the development of a positive spirit and the celebration of effort and achievement for all

every child’s right to reach their full potential through high quality teaching for learning
innovative thinking that encourages curiosity, broadens horizons and develops everyone’s talents
good behaviour everywhere
an environment of which we are all proud and in which we feel safe
treating everyone, the environment and our community, with mutual trust and respect
our wider community and its role in our school life

UNIFORM

Fairview school uniform is simple, practical and smart. Most items of uniform can be purchased in school. We would encourage all children to wear a Fairview sweatshirt and/or fleece with our school logo.

All children are expected to wear uniform and parents need to ensure that all items of clothing are marked with the name of their child. It is important that children have appropriate clothing for PE and games. On the Parents' Page of this web site you can follow a link to view the school's PE timetables in order to see the days when children need their P.E. and games kit.

For reasons of safety, children are not permitted to wear any form of jewellery during PE and games. It is not acceptable for earrings to be taped, they must be taken out.  Other than watches and small plain stud earrings, no other form of jewellery should be worn.

KORFBALL

The school runs two korfball clubs for children. Children are introduced to the rules of the game, and develop their skills though practice and small-sided games. Children are working towards a korfball badge scheme, and friendly matches are arranged. In the summer term the school enters the Medway Schools tournament.

PTA

The P.T.A. is our school’s fund raising organisation that aims to provide money to help and support the children of Fairview Community Primary School.

Committee members organise and run a wide range of events throughout the year including children’s discos, a spectacular firework display and the ever popular June Fair. Together with bazaars, quizzes and much more, these events help us to raise substantial amounts of funds to ensure our children benefit from and enjoy the best facilities and equipment.

As a parent of a child at our school you are automatically a member of the P.T.A. If you would like to become actively involved, either as a committee member or helper at one of our many events, please drop into the school office and they will put you in touch with one of us.

Our P.T.A. is a friendly bunch and whatever your skills (or lack of them!) all that is needed is a little of your time and support.

In any case we hope you and your children enjoy the events as much as we enjoy organising them.
