Our school has nine open plan classrooms. The teachers work closely in teams to provide a learning environment for all children. We have large green fields around the school enabling us to take learning into the environment outside the classroom.

Our vision for each child at Hempstead Infant School is to leave us with the independence of an enquiring mind and the ability to find the answers throughout their lives.

We respect each child in school and expect the children to consider and respect others and be polite, courteous and well spoken.

Situated on the Main Hempstead Road, We are 5 minutes walk from Hempstead Village Centre.

We are only 10 minutes walk from Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.

Year R is reception where most children are 4 - 5 years old.

All children spend 3 Terms in Year R. We follow Medway Councils policy for single admissions from September.

Those children born later in the School year will be staying for half days until January.

Y2 is the second year of the National Curriculum KS1

All children spend a year in Y2

At the end of Y2 children move into the Junior School to begin Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum.
