About Langley Park School for Boys

We continue to offer all boys an education of the highest quality. Every school is unique and when you and your son choose Langley Park School for Boys we want this to be the right decision for him. Ours is a highly successful school, with outstanding examination results, which bases its success on the traditional values of hard work and personal courtesy. Students are encouraged to take as many as possible of the opportunities provided for both study and personal enrichment.

We combine academic excellence with a wide range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities. Our students frequently achieve national distinction in sport. Music, drama and art flourish also alongside an extensive programme of opportunities outside the classroom, including outdoor challenges, exchange visits and holiday trips. The School currently holds both Sportsmark Gold and Artsmark Gold awards and is affiliated to the Technology Colleges Trust.

We hope that our pupils will respond to the warm and friendly atmosphere that characterises life at Langley Park School for Boys. They are expected to work hard, to be polite, and to respect others. We look after and care for the students as individuals, building their self-esteem and confidence and encouraging them to want to succeed. The young men that join us next September will become part of a long-standing tradition of excellence.

ADMISSIONS

If your son is presently in primary school and wishes to join as a Year 7 student in September 2008

Admission to Langley Park School for Boys in Year 7 is by the Co-ordinated Secondary School Admission Scheme. All applications for secondary school places will be dealt with by the London Borough of Bromley and applications need to be made on a standard, borough-wide application form. This form will be available from your son's primary school during the early part of Year 6.

Applicants who reside in the London Borough of Bromley must return their form to Bromley Civic Centre no later than Friday 19 October 2007.

Applicants who live outside the London Borough of Bromley must apply to their own LEA for information.  This scheme is a pan-London scheme and is therefore common to all LEAs.

Offers of places will be POSTED first class from the LEA on 3 March 2008, which is known as National Offer Day.  Further information is available from Bromley's Education Department [020 8464 3333] or by emailing the school on admissions@lpbs.org.uk.

Information will be available at our Open Evening on Thursday 4th October at 6.30 pm. Parents can find out about the school and meet students and staff at this event. The Headteacher will address parents at 6.30 pm and again at 8.00 pm. If your son attends one of the school's listed below, he will be given a school prospectus early in the new term.  If he does not attend one of the schools listed you should send a large [A4] self-addressed envelope with a 65p stamp and one will be posted to you.
