ICT Information
This page will contain many resources in the coming year. I plan to provide some custom built touch activiated games, including providing links to resources where parents / careers can download useful tools and resources.
SenSwitcher
SenSwitcher is a popular program which is used thoughout the whole school. It is a a suite of programs designed to help teach early ICT skills to people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, those who need to develop skills with assistive input devices and very young children new to computers.
It is, we believe the first time anyone anywhere has developed an online switch enabled application which targets ICT skills from purely experiential through cause and effect, switch building, timed activation, targeting and row scanning.

The autumn term saw the introduction of the new Communication Policy which has contributed to the increase of signing and visual support used around the school. A copy of this policy is available on the website.
Our focus for this term is to review and continue to support pupil’s communication needs in class. Eating and drinking reviews will continue to take place also. Jane & Helen will run the fourth Signalong Foundation Course for staff. This will mean that every class teacher will have completed this training. Two signing coffee mornings will take place on the 16 th and 23 rd January to follow-on from last years parent courses. Further introductory courses are planned for the summer term.
As ever we value the work we do with parents. Please phone, write in the contact book or call in to see us if you have any questions. |
