The Ripple School For Primary Education

Welcome To Ripple School

Our most recent Ofsted report states that 'Ripple Primary School has a positive, caring ethos and enjoys strong links with parents and the community. Pupils receive a good quality of education.'

Thank you for your interest in The Ripple School. We hope that the following information on our web site will answer many of your questions and help you to know more about the life and work of our school. Headteacher Mr Martin Harper

The Ripple School is a small village school which has been open for over one hundred years. We currently have approximately 35 children on roll and are at present permitted a Reception intake of 8 pupils. We are a true 'family' school with many of our pupils living in the village and others living in the surrounding areas. Our aim is to create an atmosphere in which children can develop their diverse talents, and grow in confidence and self-esteem. We encourage the children to care for each other and to be sensitive to the needs of each individual.

The school has an active Parents, Teachers and Friends Association which meets regularly to organise social and fund raising events. Parents and Carers are always welcome in school and we would encourage them to help both within the classroom and extra-curricular activities.

There are many occasions throughout the year that you are able to share with the children these include; seasonal celebrations, school plays, sports days, disco's and barbecues. We try to keep you informed about school life through our school newsletters.

Children are able to make the most of their education when there is close co-operation between the school, parents or carers, we hope you will feel that keeping in close touch with us will benefit both you and your child.

This school prospectus is intended to introduce you to many aspects of your child's education. You will be made most welcome by the staff when you come to visit us. We provide an additional, detailed, information pack for children who enter the Foundation Stage. We look forward to hearing from you - please telephone for a mutually convenient appointment.

Our Aims Ethos and Values

Capital letter W Childrene promote and encourage the highest levels of achievement in all areas of school life; and strive to develop learning skills and encourage enthusiasm for lifelong learning.

By providing a broad and balanced curriculum, together with a range of extra curricular activities, our children realise their full potential in all areas of life. We encourage not just academic but personal, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

We nurture high self-esteem in our children - respect for themselves as well as care and respect for others. To this end we encourage our children to develop their abilities to work both independently and collectively.

Children's confidence is developed and their aspirations are lifted and their horizons widened. This leads them to release their energies productively.

As a small village school we also take an active role in our community and encourage the children to take part in sponsored fund raising both for the school itself and for charity. We aim to nurture respect in the children not only for their community but also for the environment as a whole.

We ensure the efficient and effective management of budgets and resources to facilitate the highest possible standard of education.
