Welcome to Sandling Primary School

Our School

Sandling Primary School is near Penenden Heath, to the North of Maidstone Town Centre. The School has good views of the North Downs and the surrounding countryside around Boxley.
The School is easily accessible from the M20 motorway and there is a regular bus service from the school into town.

AIMS

To develop each child to his or her full potential in all areas, intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral and cultural.

To prepare each child for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of life.

To encourage children to respect and care for themselves, others and the environment.

To help children to develop self discipline and promote responsible attitude.

To encourage the enjoyment of living and learning and promote enquiring minds.

These aims are achieved by the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum, catering for individual needs.

UNIFORM

Girls uniform:

Grey skirt or pinafore dress

White blouse with collar and sleeves (white aertex tee shirts are ideal in Reception classes and Key Stage 1)

Red tie (optional)

Plain red or grey (or in summer white) cardigan or jumper

White socks

Red and white check, or narrow stripe dress may be worn in the Summer

Boys Uniform:

Grey trousers

Grey or white shirt (white aertex tee shirts are ideal in Reception classes and Key Stage 1)

Red tie (optional)

Plain red or grey jumper

Grey socks

Short sleeved shirt with collar may be worn in Summer, in white, grey, red or red and white check

Sweatshirts in red or grey with the school logo which may be worn as an alternative to jumpers or cardigans can be bought from the school.

P.E. Kit:

White T-shirt.

Red shorts-cotton recommended.

Plimsolls.

Tracksuit or jogging suit for the Winter.

Shoe bag with drawstring to store kit.

Footwear:

Dark "sensible" shoes (with velcro fastener, for infants) are prefered.

Trainers are not recommended for all day wear but may be worn at break times.

Plimsolls are used for games but P.E. in the hall is undertaken with bare feet.

All items of uniform should be clearly marked with the childs name. No responsibility can be taken for lost uniform which is not named.

SCHOOL HOURS

Children are asked to arrive on the playground between 8.30am and 8.45am.


Start of School 8.45am

Morning break KS1 10.00am 10.15am -
KS2 10.20am 10.35am

Lunch hour 12noon-1.15pm

End of school 3.15pm


An afternoon break is optional for KS1.
