St. Peter's Catholic Primary School

Mission Statement

Our principle aim is to provide a happy and supportive environment for all who work in, and are involved with St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School. We will endeavor to create a Christian community in which the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical and creative talents of all are nurtured. We will strive to enable our pupils to contribute to the life of the Church and the society in which they live, by being active participants and acquiring effective personal skills and qualities of good citizenship.

We will achieve this by:

  • Teaching our pupils the Catholic faith and helping them to live by the Gospel values, presenting Christ and His Gospels as a model for all activities

  • Nourishing the prayer life of the school and encouraging pupils to participate in the life of the Church

  • Informing the pupils about the liturgical cycle of the Church and promoting the school as an integral part of the parish through School and Class Masses and services.

  • Strengthening faith through stimulating and interesting parent’s meetings

  • Welcoming individuals and families from other faiths into our community and enabling all concerned to benefit from each other’s experience

  • Developing strategies of learning to help each child reach their full potential

  • Establishing standards of excellence in work, behaviour and relationships

  • Initiating styles and methods of teaching and learning that are suited to the needs of the children

  • Adopting a positive approach to behaviour management and to the resolution of conflict within the community.

  • Creating and sustaining an atmosphere in which trust, kindness, friendship, helpfulness and openness are evident.

  • Placing a high priority on the care, respect and dignity of all the individuals in the school community and beyond according to their need.

  • Maintaining a clean and healthy physical environment in which to work and grow as a safe community.

  • Establishing effective communication within the school community to create and maintain positive relationships.

The success of our mission depends on everyone in our school community. We will actively promote an enabling atmosphere of support and concern for all.
