Our School
Our school aims to nourish the growth of all its members as persons illuminated by the light of Christ. Through providing a quality education where high standards of attainment and behaviour are expected, we encourage all our pupils to develop as life-long learners. We encourage all our pupils to be aware of their own talents and develop these so that they can strive to reach their full physical, intellectual and social potential. This happens within an atmosphere of love, respect and tolerance of others.

Each individual is challenged to:
• build strong inner resources based upon spiritual values:
• direct their energies to achieve personal fulfilment;

• lead socially well integrated, functionally independent and happy lives with the self-confidence to make a contribution of real value to the rapidly changing world to which we all belong.

We seek these objectives for our pupils within a framework of a caring school, in mutual co-operation with parents and with the support of the local Christian community.

Our Mission Statment

Our school aims to nourish the growth of all its members as persons illuminated by the light of Christ.

Through providing a quality education where high standards of attainment and behaviour are expected, we encourage all our pupils to develop as life-long learners.

We encourage all our pupils to be aware of their own talents and develop these so that they can strive to reach their full physical, intellectual and social potential.

This happens within an atmosphere of love, respect and tolerance of others.

Each individual is challenged to:
• build strong inner resources based upon spiritual values:
• direct their energies to achieve personal fulfilment;
• lead socially well integrated, functionally independent and happy lives with the self-confidence to make a contribution of real value to the rapidly changing world to which we all belong.

We seek these objectives for our pupils within a framework of a caring school, in mutual co-operation with parents/carers and with the support of the local Christian community.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL SPECIAL

1. Our teaching staff are committed to Gospel values and to the handing on of sound and practical Christian traditions.

2. The children take part in prayers with an adult and with other members of the community on a regular basis.

3. Being thoughtful of others is raised by interpreting how Bible stories and values relate today via:
life in the classroom
- care for property
- delivering practical help through simple self-sacrifice and fundraising.
- our policy on special educational needs.

4. Through the co-operation of teachers and parents we pursue the ideal of a rounded education for your child by providing extra activities that include music, sport, science, art, design and technology, Information Communication Technology, Science, Cross Stitch and Life Support.

5. We believe in an open door philosophy of dialogue with parents and a policy of firm but fair discipline where children are encouraged to develop their own self-discipline and dress uniformity, forming the basis of a good learning atmosphere.

6. We are committed to an open style of management and the involvement of all the staff in the decision making process in order to establish ownership of the
objectives of the school.

7. Each child’s experiences in the home will be developed in a family atmosphere in school where teachers, parents and governors plan and work together to ensure that your child receives a full and complete education.

8. We plan to manage the expenditure of our budget and other funding income on staff, books and equipment and premises to ensure that we make the most efficient use of resources in the best interests of the children.

9. In common with all schools, we teach academic skills in accordance with the National Curriculum. Our teachers are closely involved in the management of the school and their professional skills are maintained and enhanced through regular staff development courses.

10. Through structured teaching, good example, classroom experiences and high expectations we will encourage each child to:-
- know and love God
- understand what it is to be a Christian
- prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion.
- pray and share faith daily within the school community.
- be friendly, considerate, tolerant and develop a caring, unselfish attitude.
- have respect for themselves and others.
- help those in need.
- be careful of possessions and property.
- have a strong desire to learn new things.
- take pride in being a member of the school.
- discover his/her talents and to develop them to their full potential.
- develop a sense of responsibility for the environment.
- enjoy taking part in extra curricular activities.
