Admissions Our admissions limit is 60 infant reception children and this number is usually divided into two classes. The total number of children at Sussex Road School is approximately 400. The classes vary according to size of the year group but are normally about 30 children per class.
When the children begin their schooling in one of our Reception Classes they continue with the Foundation Stage Curriculum that would have been started at Playgroup or Nursery. In Year 1 and subsequent years, the children follow the National Curriculum.
Uniform We prefer children to be well presented by the wearing of school uniform. The school colours are brown and gold. Items of uniform are sold by the School Association in the SRSA uniform shop on Friday afternoons at 3.15 pm. To read more about the Sussex Road School uniform click here.

Sussex Road School History Sussex Road School opened in 1906. Since then it has, at various times, been a Senior Girls' School, a Junior Girls' and Mixed Infants' School before becoming a Community Primary School for Boys and Girls from 5 to 11 years of age. Whatever the status of the school, during its history it has a long established tradition of excellent service to the community.
