CURRICULUM

The primary school curriculum is based on the Scottish Office Education Departments 5-14 guidelines.  The 5-14 programme details the learning and teaching for pupils in primary and first two years of secondary education.

The main curricular areas are Language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Expressive Arts and Religious and Moral Education.

UNIFORM

The school offers a choice of uniform for children to wear.  Sweatshirts and polo shirts with the school logo are available from the office.

P1-6 wear navy/red sweatshirts and P7 wear burgundy sweatshirts.

Gym shoes or indoor trainers are worn in school.  All children are required to wear P.E. kit which consists of shorts, T-shirt and gym shoes.

Children are encouraged to wear school uniform; it gives them a sense of identity and a feeling of pride about their school.  Casual dress e.g. denim jeans, tops with football or other brand name logos are not acceptable.

For safety reasons we discourage the wearing of jewellery.  Earrings must be of the stud variety and we discourage all other forms of body piercing

ALL ARTICLES OF CLOTHING MUST BE NAMED.

Parents who wish may apply for assistance with the purchase of essential clothing/footwear.  Application forms can be obtained from the school
