Ellon Primary School
The School
- Up until 1962 Ellon Academy was the only school in Ellon.
- On the eve of the re-opening after the Easter Holidays in April 1985 the north-wing of the school was burned to the ground.
- As you can imagine, the school was in complete disruption. We had no gym hall, no kitchen and no dining room.
- In 1996, after much pressure from the school board, the terrapin huts were removed and a new six classroom extension was built. In 2000 the purpose-built nursery was opened.
- Mr W. Irvine retired as Headteacher in June 1997 and Mr. J. Stott took over in August 1997. In August 2005 Mrs V. Cordiner became Headteacher.
