Lathallan Preparatory School
Founded in Fife in 1930, Lathallan Preparatory School has grown from just six pupils in those days to a fully coeducational, day and boarding school serving one hundred and twenty pupils ranging in age from five to thirteen.
The school caters for the day market in addition to its family of boarders. Lathallan School offers boarding on a weekly, flexi or casual basis.
With the launch of the new Lathallan Senior School, many pupils now graduate after their S1 year, into S2, the first year of our Senior School housed in the Castle.
Lathallan Senior School
In March of 2004 Lathallan announced ambitious plans to extend its educational provision to pupils beyond the age of thirteen.
The Headmaster explains:
“After a great deal of research, it became very evident that the North East of Scotland was ready for a new senior school of the calibre of the existing Lathallan Preparatory School. A large number of parents at the school, and many from outside have expressed a desire for continuity in Education. The Lathallan brand of small classes, meeting individual needs and breadth of curriculum along with the warm friendly atmosphere make the creation of a senior school a natural progression and a popular choice.
These are exciting times at Lathallan and I am delighted with the scale of parental interest in our plans.”
The Senior School begins in S2 (the top year of our Preparatory School being equivalent to S1), and opened in September of 2006. The school will grow year by year to age eighteen. As it develops, the Senior School will be focused around the Castle building.
