Welcome to Abbotsmede Community Primary School
The school Abbotsmede is not haunted but is believed to be haunted by the headless caretaker. There was a stage with a little storage cupboard underneath which was unsafe, however children sneaked under it and played around. The caretaker made up the myth of the headless caretaker and it worked.
At Abbotsmede we believe that parents, governors and staff have an important role in our pupils' education. By working together we would hope to achieve the following aims:
-
We encourage all our children to work hard, enjoy learning and to reach their full potential
-
We encourage each child to become literate and numerate within a well planned, broad, balanced and challenging curriculum.
-
We aim to develop lively enquiring minds and for each pupil to become confident in communicating and decision making.
-
We aim to create a calm, friendly and stimulating environment in which our children feel happy, valued and safe.
-
We encourage a high standard of behaviour where children are praised and encouraged to achieve self-discipline and respect for others.
-
We encourage understanding of religious and moral values and respect for other religions and ways of life.
-
We aim to create an environment free from all forms of racism.
-
We aim to establish an effective and constructive partnership between home, school and the wider community.
-
We aim to provide activities which will help children to become stronger and increase their understanding of nutrition, health and fitness.
-
We at Abbotsmede have high expectations for all our pupils and aim for excellence in all we do.
