Aims and Objectives
  • To provide a high standard of teaching and education within a stimulating and caring environment
  • To promote a high standard in literacy and numeracy
  • To develop learning skills and encourage every pupil to achieve his or her potential
  • To encourage the physical, moral, cultural and spiritual development of every pupil regardless of children’s social, cultural, linguistic, religious and ethnic background.
  • To instil enthusiasm, self-confidence and respect for others
  • To maintain an appropriate balance between academic, non-academic and extra-curricular activities
  • To maintain effective partnerships with families, governors and the community
  • The ethos and values of the school underpin the pupils’ spiritual, moral, cultural and social development through the curriculum and other activities.

In a small school such as ours, all children are encouraged to feel part of the caring ‘family’ of the school. From the very youngest to those on the threshold of secondary school, they are encouraged to care about one another and about their school environment, and to value each other as individuals.

Behaviour

We aim to maintain good discipline through a combination of firmness and fairness. Children are required to behave properly and politely and are expected to show respect for others. Disruptive behaviour or bullying is not tolerated. However, we do appreciate that amongst school children unpleasantness sometimes occurs. Any problems will be discussed with parents and their co-operation will be sought in dealing with significant or recurrent unacceptable behaviour from pupils.
