All about the school and its history

Little Paxton Primary School was opened in 1972, marking the return of a school to the village after nearly 25 years. The photograph right shows the original Little Paxton Village School which has now been converted into residential accommodation.
The school was extended in the late 70's and again more recently and the accommodation now consists of 9 teaching bays, a library, a hall, an ICT suite, an audio-visual room, a kiln room and an administration area.
Our school is mainly open plan. Each class has a home base and uses other areas as appropriate. The school is fortunate in being situated in spacious grounds. We have extensive areas for play, both on tarmac and grass. We have a conservation area and a quiet garden where children can find peaceful recreation at playtimes. There is also a secure outdoor play area for reception children.
The school runs a wide range of extra curricular activities which are organised by the staff. They are open to Junior children and they can choose from football, netball, hockey, cross country, art club, recorders and dance. Summer games club and dance club are open to KS1.
We have an enthusiastic Parent/Teacher association known as LPSA, who are committed in providing a wide range of fund raising activities and social events throughout the year.
