WELCOME TO ROSE HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

Receiving the Healthy Schools Award in 2007

At Rose Hill, we encourage children to aim for the very best in academic and personal success. We want children to achieve their potential. Alongside academic achievement, we feel that the children need to know that how they grow and develop, how they behave to others and how they view the world and communicate with it, contributes to the atmosphere in which they learn. We want children to learn in an environment where there is a love of learning and where hard work and good manners are encouraged.

Every school will offer the same curriculum, but the way the lessons are taught, and the experiences children have, will differ. We believe that every parent wants their child to be happy at school and that is also of paramount importance to us.

Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. Education constantly changes and this can sometimes be very confusing. It is important that mutual understanding and trust should be the basis of our shared responsibility. Only by working together in partnership, will we be able to achieve our aim of providing the best possible education for your children.

About our School

The school was opened in 1951. It consists of nine classrooms and a large teaching area, containing two further classes, which was added in the 1960’s. We also have a Nursery class and a Playgroup/Playschool. Rose Hill is now a designated Community School. The library is situated in the entrance hall and full use is made of the wide corridors to create bays for teaching and learning, and a computer study area. There is a large assembly hall which is used for many activities by the school as well as the local community. Besides having computers in each classroom, we have a dedicated computer suite which is in constant use by all the children. We have our own kitchen and purpose-built dining hall. There are two hard-surfaced playgrounds, with outdoor classrooms and 'trim trail' play equipment, and a large field where areas of wildlife are being developed adjacent to the pond.

THE ETHOS OF ROSE HILL

We believe that the school is an active community of pupils and staff working in partnership with parents to ensure each child receives the best possible education. We expect everyone to contribute towards this community making it stimulating, supportive and safe.

The Curriculum

The curriculum is the total of all learning experiences provided by the school for your child. The school aims to provide a broad, well balanced curriculum at all stages through which all children realise their full potential and develop individual talents, interests and skills.
