| The Grange Infants is a very successful school which provides a high quality of education for all pupils. The school has achieved the Basic Skills Agencies Primary Quality Mark, full accreditation for Halton Healthy Schools and Arts Mark Silver. In February 2006 the school was inspected by OFSTED and was judged to be 'Outstanding' in every area. See www.ofsted.gov.uk for the full report.
The School is one of four-schools on the Grange Campus and many children attend all four schools throughout their school life. Children who have their fifth birthdays between September 1st and August 31st may start school here in September. Our transition programme includes an Open Afternoon for children and their parents, visits into school for children to spend time in the Reception areas and an evening meeting to inform parents about school life. Occasionally we have too many applicants for the places available. In this situation, the Governors have determined that priority should be given to:
* Brothers and sisters of pupils already attending the school. * Children from families that would have problems on medical or compassionate grounds if the child was refused admission. * The children who live near the school.
Many of the children coming into this school have attended the Grange Nursery School and most of them then go on to the Junior and Comprehensive Schools. We greatly value our partnership with the other three schools.

| We warmly welcome help in school from parents and grandparents. Parents have different interests - and talents - if you feel you could spare an hour occasionally or on a regular basis please talk to your child's class teacher.
Support is needed with a variety of activities including reading, cooking, Art and computers. Parents are often needed to accompany classes on school visits. |
| 8.55 - 12.00 1.00 - 3.00
Please be on time. Try not to have the children waiting on the playground too early, especially in cold or wet weather. Five minutes before school begins is early enough.
On very wet mornings doors will be opened at 8:45 a.m.
After 8:55 a.m. the access doors off the playground are shut and parents must bring children into School via the main entrance where they will be asked to sign the 'pupil signing in' book.

| Pastoral Care and Discipline | |
| At Grange Infants we foster a caring atmosphere and have a positive attitude to discipline. We have very few written school rules therefore, but we do expect children to have high respect for other people and their belongings. If a child?s behaviour in school gives cause for concern we involve parents at an early stage and we hope that if you experience behaviour problems at home you will also come along and seek advice. All parents can see the school?s Behaviour Policy, and have the school?s Golden Rules to follow at home. Parents are asked to sign a Home School Agreement which includes our expectations for behaviour. A school rule is ?Don?t Hit Back?. It is vital that we all have the same standards and expectations for our children, and that the children realize this. We hope that you will reinforce these rules with your child at home.
