Our School Aims and Values
At St. Mark's Elm Tree Primary School our emphasis is upon high expectations, high standards and quality. We aim to be a welcoming, open and caring school, valuing each individual pupil, parent, member of staff and anyone associated with the school family. We aim to provide a learning environment that will : * celebrate the uniqueness of each child and his/her God given gifts, * enhance the potential of every child in our care, * encourage and achieve the highest standards of work and behaviour. We strive to develop in our children a positive self -image and ability to recognise and appreciate the worth of others irrespective of gender, race , colour or religious persuasion as is implicit in the Christian Gospel. In partnership with parents, Governors , the Church and the wider community , St. Mark's Elm Tree Primary School will endeavour to encourage enquiring minds and a love of learning.

is our belief that all pupils feel valued within a caring school community. We believe that by introducing a School Council, children will have the opportunity to share their opinions and feelings about issues which will effect them within our school. |
|
How was the council selected?
* Nominations. * Each child votes for one girl and one boy to represent their class. * The two children with the highest votes are now on the Council.
What does the council do?
* Listen to the ideas of class mates. * Help to make changes to the school. * Let others know what is happening in school.
After every school council meeting representatives report back to their class with any developments. |
