We would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child to St. Paul's Roman Catholic Primary School. At St. Paul's School staff and governors are committed to providing an excellent teaching and learning environment for our pupils in an atmosphere enriched by our Christian ethos.

We offer a broad and balanced range of educational experiences and activities and we measure our success by pupils' gains in academic, social and personal achievement. We aim to educate the whole child. The school endeavours to work in partnership with children and their families and we encourage prospective parents to visit the school whilst it is in session. We have high expectations of all children and continually encourage and support them so that they realise their potential and enjoy school life.

This web site is to offer you an insight into the life of the school giving current information and school policies. I am sure this will help you to understand and support the aims of the school.

Before and After School

Extra-Curricular Activities

The school encourages pupils to be involved in the various extra-curricular clubs and activities that take place. The school has successful Football and Netball clubs whose teams are involved in local leagues and tournaments. The summer sports club is always well attended. There are weekly clubs including French, Art and Science. Parents are asked to encourage the children to take part.

Out of School Care

The govenors are committed in supporting the Government Strategy to provide good quality childcare to meet the needs of the children and parents of the school. In January 2006 the school will have a complete range of Out of School Care available for children attending the school. 'Barn Owls' is a privately owned company whose staff work closely with the school and Sure Start, the Government Agency for Out of School providers. The Club is Ofsted registered and adheres to their National Standards.

Student Council

The school has a vibrant and hardworking Student Council made up of children from Year 2 to Year 6 (elected annually by their peers) and also includes 2 staff members.

The Council meet on a regular basis to discuss current issues or concerns they may have. The minutes are circulated to the Headteacher and staff and acted upon accordingly.

The work of the council is extremely important in ensuring that children have a 'voice'. Representatives from the council report to the governing body annually on the issues they have been addressing throughout the year.
