Welcome to St. Aloysius' web site. We are a co-educational maintained primary school situated in the Parish of Blaris Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

Our school aims to provide a caring community, in which the Catholic ethos permeates all levels of a child's experience and in which the academic, social, physical and spiritual potential of each child is effectively developed.

In St Aloysius the whole school community shares a common goal - to do the very best for all the children in its care. It is essential, therefore, that we work in partnership with our parents and the parish community. Indeed the success of our school depends on good co-operation between staff, pupils and parents.

Of course no web site can convey the real atmosphere of a school. I warmly invite you to visit the school on its Open Day for parents and new entrants or arrange a visit to the school when we will be most pleased to meet you.

Extra Curricular Activities

Extra Curricular Activities
Art club
When I go to art class run by Angela, I’m never bored and it always brings out my imagination.
Choir
The first time I sang in public as part of the choir was at last years open night. It was the first time I sang on stage and I really enjoyed it. ...
Gaelic football
Being a member of a Gaelic team is great fun. We get to play matches against other schools, which is fantastic. ...
Guitar Club
My Guitar teacher is called Simon. He teaches from Primary 5 to Primary 7.
Irish Dancing
Irish dancing is on Friday. Our dance teacher is called Miss Davidson.
Orchestra
When you in the orchestra it is great fun because you get to play in a big group and see how other instruments work.
Running club
Last year I went to Don's running club. I thought it was a fun way of doing exercises and keeping fit.
Soccer
I play soccer after school on a Thursday afternoon from three to four. When it's a good day we play out in the yard. Before a match we would usually warm up by playing games.

School Uniform

SCHOOL UNIFORM

It is important that each child comes to school neat and tidy. We are proud of our school uniform which reflects the individuality of our school and offers to all children a common form of dress. In the interest of Health and Safety we request that jewellery is not worn to school.

GIRLS UNIFORM

  • White Blouse
  • School Tie
  • Green V-Necked Pullover or Cardigan
  • Green Skirt or Pinafore

PE UNIFORM

  • Shorts / Tracksuit bottoms
  • T-shirt

It is a requirement of the school that all pupils wear indoor footwear. Elastic sided plimsolls are most suitable, especially for the younger children.

Parents should ensure that their child's name is clearly marked on footwear, coats, blazers and all articles of clothing including PE items.
