Welcome to Redburn Primary School

REDBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL is built on an elevated grassy site of 11 acres, planted with attractive trees and shrubs, and overlooking Belfast Lough. At the rear of the school lies Redburn Country Park. The pupils are drawn from public and private sector housing developments within the immediate area.

ACCOMMODATION is spacious and well maintained, comprising 16 classrooms, a large well equipped PE/assembly hall, dining hall and administrative block. Several classrooms have been adapted to provide a comprehensively stocked Library, Literacy and Numeracy rooms, music,TV / Video and a large well resourced area for structured play. We are particularly proud of our new Computer Suite which can accommodate 30 pupils.

STAFFING
The current teaching staff is Principal, Mrs L. Sloan, plus 6 class teachers. 1 part-time Literacy Support teacher and 1 Numeracy Support teacher further complement the quality of teaching expertise provided. Additional help is also given by 3 classroom assistants. Staff share a wide range of experience and are committed to providing a caring and supportive atmosphere for all pupils in the school during their time with us.
We hope that the children who leave us will be
· literate and numerate
· will have developed good work habits
· will have a pride in the presentation of their work
· will have developed a wide range of interests.

Clubs

At Redburn Mrs Lyons and Mrs Brown coach our football club. We work on our skills, body management, team work and at the same time have fun.
We have been really busy with tournaments and recently won the Ashfield Boys' 5 a side tournament. We still have many more competitions to look forward to in the future.

Good luck to P5/6 on Thursday 5th May.
Redburn v Crawfordsburn.
Football coach Stephen Graham is teaching Primary 4 and Primary 5 pupils new skils. Stephen encourages the children to develop and improve their general fitness, body management, coordination and balance.
Cookery is great fun! We learn how to make delicous things like soda pizza, fruit kebabs and chocolate dip, chocolate cookies and pancakes---from the simplest of ingredients. Yummy!
Cookery club is excellent ..
Visit our web site soon for recipe ideas.

At computer club we practise our keyboard and typing skills and learn how to use the internet and visit interesting websites. We
e-mail each other and our friends and create our own greetings cards.
The club is very interesting.

Art Club is taken by Mrs Jones and Miss Creane.
At Art club we make interesting things, like giant flowers for the Harvest Service. Next we are making clocks for presents for our family and Christmas decorations.
Badminton club is on Tuesday. Mrs Lyons and Mrs Brown are impressed with the skill and enthusiasm of the club members. Well done to all those children who have already achieved 10 skills.
Cross country club is new this year and encourages all those who can run 1000m to come along. Mrs Lyons and Mrs Brown are in training aswell and have entered 16 pupils for a competition in April.
