Summary of the Governing Body’s Statement
Our fundamental aim is the “all round” development of each child so that he/she will fulfil his/her potential and use their skills to good advantage. The curriculum is, of course most than a collection of subject. It is the total offering of a school to its pupils. A particular aspect of R.C. voluntary aided schools is their commitment to the spiritual care and development of their pupils. In the development of a school as a faith community there is a particular concern to develop the whole person within the framework of the Church’s teaching. School plays an important part in the life of every child and therefore it is essential that from the beginning of his/her school life every effort is made to ensure that each child settles happily into a school routine. It is therefore important to develop close and harmonious links between home and school.
Complying with National Requirements, the School offers a broad and balanced range of subjects which include the Core subjects: Religious education, English, Mathematics, Science, I.C.T and Foundation subjects: History, Geography. Music, Art, Physical Education, Design Technology and Citizenship.
Each child’s individuality is recognised and word is planned matched accordingly. The School has an equal opportunities policy and great care is taken to promote racial equality.
