We are a caring family school in a small ex-mining village in County Durham. We have one mixed age range class in the Infant Department and a recently refurbished Early Years unit. Our lovely old building gives us plenty of space for a wide range of quality learning experiences and we also enjoy exploring the extensive hard surface and natural areas in our grounds. We pride ourselves on the individual care given to all our pupils in a secure and stimulating environment.

" Pupils....are eager learners who enjoy coming to school and are stimulated by the exciting and interesting lessons provided for them by their teachers." | |
Children in Key Stage 1 follow the National Curriculum and this is enriched by a variety of visits, visitors and special events throughout the year.
Accommodation for Key Stage 1 pupils is generous allowing opportunities for small group as well as whole class work. The school recognises the importance of reading competence and additional support staff give pupils individual practice in their reading.
At Trimdon Grange we particularly value ICT and the Arts and we were recently awarded the Arts Mark Silver Award for our achievements. We have also received the Basic Skills Quality Mark which recognises long term improvements in pupil attainment. |
