West Cornforth Primary School is a historical school situated in West Cornforth, a village in the middle of the old South Durham coal field. The community which the school serves has high unemployment and many social issues. Nevertheless the school is progressive and ambitious; steeped in its own culture and full of character. The staff and pupils have worked very hard to bring you this web-site (with a little help from some friends - Dominic from Xenosys).

We hope to use it to give you all a little more information about our school and what goes on  but, perhaps more importantly it will introduce our pupils to web technology; giving them a forum to express their creativity and celebrate their successes.

Internet Safety

A recent conference gave out frightening statistics about incidents involving children through use of the internet. Please make sure you know who your child is talking to online and be aware that they have access to the World Wide Web and that people with ulterior motives may be talking to them. If you need any help to ensure your internet is child safe then visit one of the following links by clicking its name.

Community events

The school is involved in a number of Community Events.

Remembrance Day

The pupils join with members of the village to remember the people who gave their lives in war for others.
