    Ability
Ability to learn varies from child to child and subject to subject. The important thing is to match the learning task to the ability of the child. By so doing, the teacher leads the pupil to experience both challenge and success as well as an appetite for more learning. It is the school's policy to develop continuity and cohesion of the curriculum within the school and with other local schools.

The curriculum is designed to ensure that every child has the opportunity to study the National Curriculum Core Subjects of:

    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • Religious Education

    Pupils study seven Foundation Subjects:

    • History
    • Geography
    • Design and Technology
    • Art
    • Music
    • Information Technology
    • Physical Education
Cross-curricular issues are also taught: Health, Citizenship, Safety and Multicultural Education.

    Teaching Resources and Equipment
A wide range of modern teaching resources are available to support all aspects of the curriculum.
    These include:

    • the 'Oxford Reading Tree', as well as comprehensive libraries of supplementary readers, fiction and non -fiction books.
    • computers based in each class having controlled internet access and additional laptops for group work.
    • Interactive Whiteboards.
    • a variety of science equipment, audio visual aids.

    Children's Progress
Progress is recorded regularly and notified to parents by written reports and interviews. Progress interviews are given in the Autumn and Spring terms and a written report goes out to parents in the Summer term. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's schooling you are welcome to make an appointment with their teacher.
