Sporting success Congratulations to two year 11 students who have gained sporting success.  One is leading the Under 15’s speedway championship and was unbeaten first round in Weymouth and he has also been chosen to take part in the British Under 18’s Championship. The other Year 11 student recently won the Dorset Golf Championship at Knighton Heath and is due to play in the Regional Finals in Devon on 1 October. Good luck to both of them.

	New post 16 students had great fun participating in a personal development course, as part of their induction programme.  It was an excellent afternoon that was facilitated by the Army and involved a variety of command tasks.  A great start to the year.
	A group of ‘Gifted and Talented' sports students from Ashdown were invited to watch the first competitive England football match at the new Wembley Stadium.  The day was a great success.  A big thank you to all staff for their help and support in organising the day.  The students behaviour on the day was a credit to Ashdown.
	Mr Bland was selected to represent England in the International Masters Hockey Tournament in Birmingham and the Four Nations at Swansea. England won both tournaments.
