Blandford St. Mary C.E.V.A. Primary School |
Our school is at the heart of a close knit community in rural North Dorset. It is on the outskirts of the Georgian town of Blandford Forum within easy access of Poole, Bournemouth, Salisbury & Dorchester. We are a very warm and welcoming school with a creative and lively feel.
As a church school we actively promote the Christian values of caring for each other and our world. The school is an active learning environment where we celebrate all our children's success.
Blandford St Mary First School was established over a hundred years ago. The original school is a Victorian building in close proximity to where we are now. We moved to our new site on Birch Avenue in April 1997. The site is at the heart of a new housing development, and the school is taking an increasingly central role in the life of the community.
The new building is a highly individual and attractive design with a striking zig-zag roof. The large windows give the school a light and airy feel inside. Children, teachers and governors all contributed to the internal design which certainly adds to its 'feel good' factor.
Recently a new classroom has been added to meet the needs of our growing school community. |
