Hill View Primary School is a Community school situated in Ensbury Park, a residential area of Bournemouth. We are a three form entry school and from September 2005 will have 616 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 years.
The School currently has two main buildings, called North and South. North building fronts Hill View Road and is the main entrance for all adults and visitors. This building houses Years 4, 5 and 6, a hall/gym, the library and the School Office. South building, at the back of our site, is for Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 and includes a hall/gym, a quadrangle play area for Reception, the Food Technology area and the Computer Suite.
During the forthcoming year the School will be under-going major re-modeling and new building works. The outcomes of which will be five new classrooms, a dedicated music/drama room, a bigger library, a new computer suite and a larger and improved playground space that more closely meets the needs of the children and the curriculum.
We are really excited about the opportunities for change that the build brings to our School.
At Hill View Primary School it is our aim to create for everyone a happy, secure and stimulating learning environment.
For our children we will encourage a love of learning, develop their independence and self-discipline and their respect for themselves, for others and for our world.
We will provide a rich, broad and balanced curriculum, which will teach academic, social and aesthetic skills and seek to fulfil each individual's potential.
We aim to prepare our children for their role as responsible, confident members of a multi-cultural society in an ever-changing world.
A very warm welcome to Hill View Primary School. I am Lynette Golborne and I have the very great privilege of being Headteacher.
‘I believe I can’ is my philosophy in life. I believe that feelings of self-esteem and self-worth is one of the keys if not the most important key to success. I think a lack of self-worth can prevent you from even dreaming – let alone fulfilling your dreams.
To ensure success and start the positive cycle it’s vital to recognize our children’s talents, supporting, working alongside and encouraging them to recognize their own strengths.
We all live up to the expectations of those around us.
It’s about ‘having a go’ – not just for our children, but for our Staff as well.
So for Hill View Primary it’s about High Expectations and High Achievement.
My aim is for each individual in our school community to subscribe to ‘I believe I can’ and then over time for us to move to ‘We believe we can’ – as a community working with a collaborative, corporate approach – together.
