Vision Statement
Rossmore Community College aims to provide high quality Learning & Teaching experiences in order for our students to achieve educational and personal success.
There is a commitment to positive relationships within our school and the wider community, based on trust, fairness, tolerance and mutual respect.
We aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment that challenges, motivates and is well resourced.
We promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and attainment.
We share and celebrate success and demonstrate pride through achievement.
As a full service extended school with Specialist Sports College status, we embrace the principles of the Every Child Matters agenda.
Extended Schools Latest
By 2010, the government vision is that all children should have access to a variety of formal and informal activities beyond the school day. In line with the government’s “Every Child Matters” policy, schools should be able to give a “core offer” of services, including.
Childcare provision
Adult education
Parenting support
Community based health and social care services
Multi-agency behaviour support teams
After school activities
Within the Rossmore pyramid of schools, we are already offering a number of these services.
However we want to extend our services further, so that the needs of each child young person the family and community are met. Young people nationally have identified the five outcomes that they want for themselves (see in blue text, right), and our challenge is to ensure that we can meet these outcomes on a local level.
