Welcome

Our School Is Fab!Thank You for visiting Blackwell First School's web site. It is a successful school serving rising 5 to 9 years olds. The school achieves its outstanding reputation and salient traits, thanks to the hard working team, including dedicated teachers, superb attitude of the pupils, supportive parents and governors. The Governors and Staff in partnership with the Parents believe Blackwell First School is a place where learning and personal development is nurtured within a caring, family environment.

OUR VISION

At Blackwell First School we aim to create a caring, stimulating and happy environment in which each child will experience a broad balanced curriculum, developing positive attitudes and acquiring a sense of achievement, self-confidence and self-discipline.

The Gold BookOUR GOLDEN RULES

1. Follow instructions carefully
2. Treat people and property with care and respect
3. Move and act in a safe manner
4. Co-operate and contribute in a positive manner

Blackwell First School is a small, friendly village school located only 3 miles from central Bromsgrove. With its good reputation and its location near major commuting routes, Blackwell First School draws in pupils from a wide area, both inside and outside the catchment. The School is fortunate to be located within a semi-rural area at the southern tip of the Lickey Hills. It has its own well-equipped playing field with an adventure trail and a safe and secure Woodland Area for the youngest children. The outdoors is also used as a learning environment for the children through the School’s highly-regarded Forest School initiative. Reception Year children spend one afternoon a week with trained staff in a dedicated and safe wooded area using outdoor exploration to build on their Foundation Stage learning.
