At King's St Alban's we have an equal mix of girls and boys and of male and female staff. Ten small classes of academically able children aged 7-11 enjoy an education enriched by the facilities and staff of the adjacent senior school. Activity beyond the classroom abounds – competitive sport, a wide variety of music and outdoor education all complemented by clubs, visits and visitors that enrich the academic curriculum.
Arrange to come and visit us on a normal working day. Meet some of the children and staff. Judge for yourself how every girl and boy is helped to make the most of their talents.
Rugby Seven’s Success!
King’s St. Alban’s U’11 seven-a-side squad took part in the Elms Seven’s on Saturday September 13th. In the first round pool they were undefeated beating The Elms and St.Richard’s and drawing with Tockington Manor and Hereford Cathedral School. As runners-up in the group they qualified for third/fourth place playoff against Abberley Hall. The teams were closely matched but despite having the majority of the possession the St.Alban’s side could not breach the Abberley line and were finally defeated by two break-away scores. The competition was won by St.Alban’s sister Junior School, King's Hawford who defeated Hereford in the final. A terrific start to the season!
Year Five Camps at The Old Chapel
Over two Autumn weekends almost sixty children from the new Year 5 at King's St. Alban's have been camping at the school's Outdoor Education Centre, "The Old Chapel" in the Black Mountains. The trip provides a perfect opportunity for the twenty children who have just joined the school at 9+ to get to know each other and the rest of the Year Group.
The weather was kind, though there were frosts overnight. The children spent time damming and swimming in the stream and playing in the woods. Highlights included the walk to Table Mountain where the children played endless hide and seek in the bracken and climbing on the summit rocks. Of course, all enjoyed sitting around the camp-fire at night toasting marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate.
