t John's CE First School is a great place to work. My colleagues work really hard to ensure that the children are provided with an varied, exciting curriculum. In February 2005 the Ofsted Inspectors wrote in our report, "The staff deliver a wide, interesting and very well enriched curriculum that motivates the pupils very well to concentrate and make progress".

Our pupils are tomorrow's decision-makers and are educated with this in mind.

We are proud to be a church school with close links to St John the Baptist. Christian values permeate the life of the school. Each individual, from any faith background or none, is valued as a child of God.
Ofsted also found that " Very good steps are taken to ensure the care, welfare, health and safety of pupils".

Every child is special to us and we aim to educate and care for each one whilst they are in school.
Caring for ourselves, each other and the environment are intrinsic parts of the school.

Learning for a sustainable future which includes understanding and feeling part of the Global Community is very high on our agenda.
Don't take my word for it, come and see us. You will feel the warm, friendly atmosphere as you walk through the doors.

Parents/carers and visitors are always welcome.

Meanwhile I encourage you to browse our website, you will find details of school events, visits and activities that serve to enliven the curriculum, alongside information about our after school clubs and extra curricular activities.

Sue Fitzjohn
Headteacher

You will receive a warm welcome from Mrs Lambert as you enter the building. She can deal with your queries.

Through Mrs Lambert you can arrange to see another member of staff.
This is our foyer. Parents/carers and visitors come this way to join in with Collective Worship in the hall.

There is always a hot coffee waiting for you to drink before the worship candle is lit. You will find a page all about the collective worship at St John's.
Hot lunches are also seved in the hall. The food is very tasty and of course it complies with healthy eating standards.
PE, Dance and Drama lessons also take place in the hall.

You can imagine how tight the Hall timetable is in-order to fit all twelve classes in.
As you move away from the hall you will see Mrs Perkins, the school adminstrator. She is at the hub of the school and is also responsible for producing the weekly newsletter.

To make sure that you know what is going on the newsletter is posted in the news section of the website each week.
