Colebrook Infants is a friendly school with 5 classes. We mainly serve the small residential area of Coleview, but we welcome children from outside our designated area.
We believe that school should be an enjoyable and exciting learning experience for pupils, parents and staff. To find out more, use the buttons on the left. Information will give you curriculum information and extracts from the school brochure and our news letters are on the Notice Board. To make contact, use the Enquiry button and don't forget to sign the Guestbook. Your opinions mean a lot to us.
We admit children in the September after their 4th birthday. Children with birthdays before the end of March are admitted full time from September. Younger children may come to school for a full day by joining our lunch and afternoon clubs. In the September after they are 7, children transfer to Colebrook Junior School, with whom we share our grounds. Use the Links button to visit their award winning web site. At age 11 many children transfer to Kingsdown, our popular local secondary school. Use the Links button to view our excellent Ofsted Report.
We are happy to receive visitors to our school. If you would like to look round, just ring for an appointment. To register your child contact us and we'll supply the necesary forms.

We have an open door policy and welcome parents as partners in their child's education. There are two formal parents' evenings each year, but parents are encouraged to talk to their child's teacher if they have any concerns.
The first people you are likely to meet are Mrs Gaynor Deacon our Admin Officer and Mrs Kim Cottrell, Admin Assistant. The office is manned between 8.50 and 12.00 each day . In addition to running the ofice and keeping track of school finances they are happy to answer any general questions you may have.
Mrs Lesley Millard leads the Early Years team and teaches the Elephants , also known as 23E in Pod 23. At Colebrook we are lucky to have the support of excellent Teaching Assistants. Mrs Karen Hicks and Mrs Jackie MacDonald work the children in both Reception classes..
This year Miss Laura Monticelli has moved from the Owls to join Mrs Millard in Reception. She teaches the Bears, also known as 23B. The stange numbers for our teaching areas come from the numbers on the original school plans.
Mrs Anne-Marie Cleary is our Deputy Head Teacher. This year she is the class teacher of the Owls, who are a mixed class of year 1s and year 2s. She is very ably supported by Mrs Julie Churchill.
Miss Nicky Westwood teaches the Leopards, a class of mixed Year 1 / Year 2s in Pod 17. She leads the Key Stage 1 team and she is also our Literacy Co-ordinator. She is supported by teaching assistants, Mrs Katherine Norton and Mrs Lisa Anns. Mrs Anns can also be found looking after the children at lunch time as she is one of our four "dinner ladies". Miss Westwood is curremtly on maternity leave and we have been pleased to welcome back Mrs Avril Brown who will be with us until Christmas 2007.
Miss Catherine Kemble teaches the Dolphins, also known as 9K, alongside Mrs Cleary. This is another mixed Year 1 / Year 2 class. She is supported by teaching assistants, Mrs Debbie Bowles in the morning and Mrs Tracy Pinnock in the afternoons. Both have just successfully completed theirLevel 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Well done ladies!
This year we are very please to welcome Miss Penny Whitehead. She will be teaching RE and Music and so will visit every class. After Christmas she will be sharing the Leopards with Miss Westwood when she returns from maternity leave.
