The curriculum provided at our school is, as far as possible, broad and
balanced, but with a clear focus on the core subjects.
We see the curriculum in terms of attitudes, concepts, skills and knowledge
and these will be our underlying principles when planning work in any area.

We aim to integrate new knowledge whenever possible with previous
experiences.
We provide opportunities to learn at first hand and for individual interests
to develop and progress as much as possible.
Where children have special education needs every effort is made to devise
an appropriate learning programme to meet their individual needs. Other
specialist agencies will be involved wherever necessary.

National Curriculum is being taught in school. This consists of English,
Mathematics, Science, Design Technology, Information and Communication
Technology, History, Geography, Music, Art, P.E., and also R.E.

There is always something exciting, interesting and useful to do at our school.

Educational visits and journeys form an important part of theschool's curriculum. We hope that all children will be able to take advantage of the opportunities offered. Every effort is made to keep expenses to a minimum and help can be obtained from school in provision of suitable clothing for outdoor activities.
Children visit local places of interest in connection with their current on-going work in the classroom e.g. farms, museums, nature reserves etc.
We feel that the real world is an important place in which we
can both learn and use our knowledge and skills.

At Carleton Park School we aim to provide a caring and stimulating environment where quality work and high standards are of prime importance. We believe that in these circumstances learning will become a pleasure and the children will be happy. Our intention is to enable each child to develop to their full potential. We encourage children to take a pride in their work.

The teachers provide a secure framework within which each child can work.. Each member of staff devotes time, energy and interest to the conscientious teaching of all the children in their care.
We believe that education is a partnership that is most effective when there is close co-operation between home and school. Working together we can give your child security and confidence, essential elements to make real learning possible.

There will be many things you may wish to know about our school and in a website of this nature we cannot hope to cover all of these. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
