NEWSLETTER - OCTOBER 2007

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
A warm welcome back from us all!!  We hope you're all feeling refreshed after the holidays and if not we've plenty of events lined up for you, over the next few months, to put the smiles back on your faces!
The benefits of your continuous support and generosity didn't stop over the holidays though, as new tables and chairs are to be ordered soon for Year 1.  Once again, a huge "thank you"!
It was just two years ago that we decided to provide the school with new tables and chairs and Year 1 will be the final classroom!
At the recent Parents Association meeting it was decided the next items the Parents Association would fund raise for would be for the children.  Teachers are asking the children to decide what they would like and a wish list will be presented to the Parents Association.

BAG PACKING AT MORRISON'S, WETHERBY - SATURDAY 13TH OCTOBER
Morrison's have very generously granted us permission to fundraise in their Wetherby store on Saturday, 13th October.  We'll be hard at work packing bags but if you and your child could offer an hour or two to help we would be VERY grateful.  If you can spare time please let one of our parents association members know.

PARENTS EVENING - MONDAY 15TH OCTOBER
We'll be holding a raffle at this years' important school evening, so look out for our usual table.  There will be three prizes.
1st Family Travel Ticket donated by Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.
2nd Tin of chocolates donated by Tony Wildgoose.
3rd Family box of biscuits donated by Tony Wildgoose.
This evening also gives you the ideal opportunity to find out more about us, particularly parents new to the school.  We're always needing new helpers, especially as existing parents move on each year as their children leave the school.  Please feel free to stop for a chat - we're a friendly bunch!

HALLOWEEN DISCO & FIREWORKS - THURSDAY 1ST NOVEMBER
Yes, our annual ghostly gathering is almost upon us!  Our resident DJ Mark will be kicking up a storm and there'll be games aplenty plus hot food and brews!
The fireworks were such a success again last year that we're doing them all over again!  (Loud bangs will be towards to end, so little ones can retreat inside!).
Entry fee will be the usual £1.
As always children can dress up in their spookiest outfits - prizes for the best!  We'll also be selling Halloween novelties at the after school tuck shop on Mondays and Tuesdays, during October, our prices can't be beaten!
We've more exciting things planned for nearer Christmas but for now we hope you enjoy these forthcoming events.
