ETHOS STATEMENT
Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.
The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission statement is:
As a school, we aim to work in partnership with parents, the church and the community
to foster the enjoyment and excitement of life and learning in a place where children develop a sense of respect for themselves, others and the world around them. In addition we will provide, within a caring and attractive environment, a broad and balanced curriculum which seeks to develop each child’s spiritual and intellectual potential.
The Staff, Governors and PSA of St Michael’s work together to develop a secure environment where opportunities are provided for each child to achieve his or her highest individual academic and social potential within the framework of a disciplined structure. As a Church Foundation, the school accepts Christian beliefs as part of its way of life and encourages Christian moral standards, strong links with the community and the recognition of all achievements.
Our motto is "Confident to meet the Challenge".
