Welcome to Minsthorpe Community College At the heart of the Regenerating SESKU Area In the 21st Century
"SESKU" ( South Elmsall, South Kirkby, Upton ) area of South East Wakefield.
What is a Community College?
For Minsthorpe it means a place of lifelong learning with a Core Activity of an 11 - 19 Comprehensive school. We are proud of the achievements of our young people who have shown ongoing improvements in attendance and examination performance over the past decade. This means that we are popular and oversubscribed, looking forward to continuing improvements in years to come.
Yet Minsthorpe Community College is more that just a Secondary School - around our core activity we provide a range of facilities and opportunities for people of all ages and for the whole community. Our reputation for quality provision and raising standards of achievement is spreading locally and nationally. With a committed staff, enthusiastic students and involved parents, community and partners, we are relaunching our push for improvement in this new decade.
Minsthorpe Community College enables lifelong learning within the community and we are committed to access, quality and opportunity for all people of all ages. Each week around 4000 people participate in our range of education, learning and leisure opportunities, many of which are tailored to meet individual needs.
We believe that we are a true 50 week per year college, offering education, training and activities throughout the week, weekends and holidays.
Minsthorpe provides full and part-time employment for over 200 people, many of whom also attend further education provided on site. We expect each and every employee to be committed to high Quality and Standards, this is reflected in our Government Charter Mark for Excellence in Public Service.
We look forward to welcoming you, your family, friends and colleagues to Minsthorpe Community College.
