Most children join us in Year 7 although a small number of students join us in later years when places become available. The children come from a large number of primary schools in the south of Bradford including Shibden Head, Russell Hall, Foxhill, Stocks Lane, Hollingwood, Westwood Park, Wibsey and Cooper Lane. We maintain close links with these schools and in the next twelve months our staff will visit them to talk with children and their teachers. The children themselves will visit us in July.
An increasing number of students join us at Post-16 where we have a large and thriving Sixth Form following A level and GNVQ courses, most of whom go on to Higher Education. A separate Sixth Form prospectus is available from school which gives details of how to apply.
The parents of children who join the school at other times during their school career are invited to contact Mr Walker, the Deputy Headteacher, who has responsibility for admissions. He will invite you into school where you will be given a guided tour and helped to make the necessary arrangements.
Applications to join Queensbury School should be included on the Preference Form issued to all Year 6 pupils, in Bradford schools, in September. You may express an equal preference for up to three schools. The Preference Form must be returned to your child's Primary School by the date shown. Applications to the school from outside Bradford's Local Authority will be considered, contact should be made with the admissions officer detailed below.
Admission arrangements are overseen by Education Bradford and the school's admissions policy can be found in the 'Guide for Parents about Admission Arrangements' which is issued to Year 6 Primary School pupils in September prior to admission to secondary school.
If your child is not allocated to the school of your choice, you are entitled to appeal against Education Bradford's decision. The appeals process is managed by Education Bradford. |
