Our School
St Peter's is a voluntary controlled, Church of England, Primary & Nursery Day School, catering for boys & girls between the ages of 3 & 11 years. It comes under Wakefield MDC LEA who provide the school, carries out major items of repair and maintenance, and provide advisers, training, transport and many other services. |
Nursery |
The Nursery is a new, purpose built, separate unit with its own outdoor play area, catering for 3 & 4 year olds on a part-time basis. |

Junior & Infants |
Children normally start mainstream school at the beginning of the term, in which they are five. Meetings are held for parents of children about to enter Reception, to discuss arrangements and answer questions. |
Class organisation is flexible and varies according to numbers admitted. Classes may, of necessity, be of mixed age groups, but if numbers are sufficient single year classes will be of mixed ability. |
The main school has undergone major refurbishment, having six new classrooms built and existing ones improved, providing each class with it's own wet area for practical activities. |
In addition to the classrooms, there are two halls, a library area and computer suite, as well as an internal central courtyard and reception area. |
The dining room is a separate building and extensive playground and field areas surround the whole school. |
On completion of year 6 the children move on to secondary school to continue their education. Most children from St Peter's move on to Outwood Grange Comprehensive. |
