About Us

Whingate is a two-form entry Primary School which has 390 pupils on roll. There is also a Nursery for pupils aged 3 and 4 years, which is operating as a 39-place unit.

School front viewThe school building was opened in April 1989. Each year area consists of two class bases and most rooms have been up-dated and redecorated in the last three years

There is a newly built library, a new ICT suite ICT suiteand a new Pupil Development Centre which we use for a Breakfast Club, a Lunchtime Club and for a range of teaching about personal, health and social issues. Every classroom from Year 1 to 6 has an interactive Smartboard.

Outside there are two large hard surface playing areas and a good sized grassed area. The playgrounds have some activity trails, seating, shaded and exciting permanent play markings.

TSchool grass areahe school is a secure environment, with a perimeter security fence, door entry systems and a Superintendent who lives on site.

Above all else Whingate is a happy and successful school for children and adults.
