About Us
A very warm welcome to Castle Primary School!
We are a thriving and well situated school of approximately 275 pupils aged between 4 and 11 years. Our school is large enough to provide the resources required for a full and varied education for young children while retaining a friendly and secure atmosphere for pupils, parents and staff.
Located in the centre of Tiverton our school occupies the buildings of the former Tiverton Middle School and is set in extensive grounds. Our facilities are the envy of other primary schools with large classrooms, two halls, an up to date computer suite and a specialist music room as well as a canteen where fresh meals are cooked on site. Outside we have a large playing field, a foundation stage outdoor play area, a large tarmac area for physical activities including playtimes and a safe sheltered area for younger children. In addition to this we have a quiet area, which is currently being developed, and an environmental area with a pond and woodland all of which help us promote active learning.
We have a very supportive governing body and an active Home School Association (HSA). The staff, the governors, the HSA and above all, the children, benefit from working together as a team and welcome your interest and involvement in the life of the school.
At our school we provide a secure and stimulating environment which fosters high self esteem and allows positive relationships to flourish. Our environment promotes balance of knowledge and understanding which enables pupils to develop their potential.
