Bishop Gore Comprehensive School has a long, rich and successful history. Founded in 1682, it is a school of great tradition but which is nevertheless dynamic and forward looking. It is a school which combines deep rooted educational traditions and values with all that is best of the twenty first century.
Combined with a strong focus on all pupils achieving to the best of their ability, the school places a great emphasis on its caring ethos. We believe that, by giving many opportunities to pupils to enjoy experiences outside the curriculum, to work with each other and the community, they are encouraged to grow into confident, enquiring young adults with a sense of responsibility and understanding. We encourage consideration for others in school and within the community. Equipped with the best education, instilled with self-discipline and a sense of responsibility, pupils feel confident to make sound decisions and judgements for themselves. With many opportunities for leadership young people leave Bishop Gore academically and socially competent to meet the inevitable challenges of the world outside.
I hope this has given you a brief insight into life at Bishop Gore. Pupils, parents and carers are invited to our Open Evening which is on January 24th 2008 at 7.00 pm. If you are unable to attend the Open Evening or have any queries please contact us at the school.
